Kitchen & Family Room Remodel in Chesapeake, Virginia

Drs. Anthony and Leslie Manning gave us the opportunity to update their beautiful farmhouse in southern Chesapeake, including their kitchen, family room, staircases, and new flooring throughout the home. After living in their home for a few years, the Mannings felt their most frequently used living areas needed a refresher. Dr. Manning’s colleague recommended he contact Jerry Harris Remodeling, as JHR had recently updated her bathroom.

“That was his whole thing…’You’re living here. How would you like it and how can we best get you to that point?'”

The Mannings remodeled their entire kitchen from floor to ceiling, sticking with a cool gray to white color scheme for a soothing vibe throughout. In their beautiful long island, the Manning chose to build in a power source behind open shelves. This small trick provides a convenient and discreet charging station as well as a ready-to-use platform for electronic picture frames or speakers.

Initially, the Mannings planned to re-finish the stairs. After pulling the carpet, we discovered rot in the sub-floor under the stairs, so the Mannings decided to re-build the front and rear staircases, adding metal balusters for an elegant touch. The results are beautiful. In the living room and throughout the upstairs living area, the Mannings chose COREtec Alabaster Oak, a pleasing brown luxury vinyl tile flooring.

By updating their stairs, kitchen, and flooring, the Mannings gave their home a bold new first impression and updated their most lived in areas to be more modern and inviting spaces.
