The Coreys came to Jerry Harris Remodeling seeking to update their newly purchased 1970’s home on the banks of the Elizabeth River in Chesapeake. Key to their desires for this project was maximizing their enjoyment of the waterfront view and bringing the home in line with contemporary trends.
To accomplish these goals, we converted the downstairs bedroom into a master suite, complete with a double vanity, makeup area, tiled shower, and expansive walk-in closet with an island for staging. Because their bedroom suite faces the waterfront, the Coreys now wake up each morning with a view over the river.
The Coreys’ kitchen is now a more modern, functional space, featuring contemporary cabinets, countertops, appliances, flooring, and lighting. When choosing their cabinets and countertops, the Coreys decided to use different, yet complementary, colors for their kitchen island. This decision resulted in a beautiful accent piece in the kitchen’s center.
In the main living area, we replaced a wall with support columns, which opened the space between the kitchen and great room, exposing the riverfront views from the moment the Coreys walk in their home.
